Stayed here for a week at a beach house. Enjoyed every minute of it. When the ships left we essentially had the whole beach to ourselves. Never felt unsafe but the locals will happily take advantage of you financially if you let them.

Cabo San Lucas is the LAST port stop on the 7 day Panorama Mexican cruise, not the first.

We are staying at Edgewater before our Celebrity cruise leaving Pier 91 in July. What’s the best way to get there since the hotel apparently does not offer shuttle. Or does it? Thanks Michael!

Thank you for the information Michael. I think Celebration Key is going to an absolute treat. I've been sailing on Carnival for many years now. Dating back to 2003 on the Sensation (Rip). After visting Coco cay on Royal which was an absolute blast. I'm excited to see what Celebration Key has to offer.

It does get dark for many hours in the Winter. A few people do visit Alaska during the winter. If you are going to take a cruise it will not be dark for most of the day. Alaska has grizzlies and black bears that you may see in the wild. I would expect to see Polar bears in zoos in Alaska just like you can see them in zoos in the Lower 48. Alaska has the Aleutian Islands but they are a small fraction of its land mass. Hawaii is a state of volcanic islands.

4 people in a cabin always. Never had a problem.

I would like if the cruise industry advertised prices with taxes and gratuities included, I believe the advertised prices are misleading, I might be wrong? What’s the final cost for a cruise (less what you decided to spend for drinks, shore excursions, « specialty » , dining, etc.)?

I understand recreational use is frowned upon, but does this still apply if you have a medical prescription? Cheers :)

We cruised on the Encore in May of 2023 from Seattle to Alaska for our first cruise ever and had an early sign in time but once we got to the cruise terminal it was a mess. Long lines outside then when we got inside we had the same situation. People everywhere and it took forever to board the ship. Definitely a put off for being our first cruise. I sent a picture off the lines to my brother in law who cruises a lot and asked if that was normal. He said absolutely not. He has never had lines like that with Royal. Hopefully they can work on the check in and boarding process. The cruise itself was great once we got passed check in and boarded the ship.

NCL used to be my favourite line until they started nickle and diming customers to death. In 3 weeks, however, I will be sailing with them again, this time on my first Alaska cruise. Most of my excursions are 3rd party, so your review has me a little concerned about possibly missing the ship. I will give my excursions some more thought, but in truth, my sailing is so early in the season that I doubt I'll encounter the crowds you did. Thank you for your video.

I have maintained for many years that NCL is not the right choice of lines to sail to Alaska. To me Holland America does it best. I have sailed twice with them out of Seattle and both were near perfect cruises.

What you described is my idea of hell. That’s why I will not do mainstream cruises anymore, ships are getting bigger and bigger and bigger. It’s ridiculous. I personally don’t find it relaxing to be on vacation with 6000 other people. The lines you describe our consequence of those large cruise ships. I’ve been on 17 cruises and four cruise lines and they’re all getting bigger and bigger. I would never ever consider Norwegian, MSC or Royal Caribbean in particular.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. I took exactly the same cruise and I absolutely enjoyed my trip. I did check reviews, and I almost didn't take it because of so many bad reviews. But I am glad I came across some positive reviews, which helped me to be prepared and plan my excursions accordingly. It was the best service in my 4 cruises. Food was great. It was awesome positive experience for me! I enjoyed everything. If someone does not want lines, mine wasn't bad, just choose a smaller ship. I also got covid on my last day from one of the staff, who was sick on duty.

I live in downtown Seattle and navigate the NCL terminal area on foot all throughout cruise season. I think it's too congested of an area for the large ships like Encore and Bliss. I think they might book passenger boarding times so early to try to space out the waves of people but the infrastructure just isn't set up to handle thousands of people boarding or disembarking. I totally agree about how miserable that part of the experience would be. In my observations passing by most passengers seem stressed out and so do the staff trying to manage people and vehicle traffic. Like deciding to use that area for large ships was more of an afterthought. Hopefully one day a more functional and intentional design will be built there.
